Our Story
Karan and Vachana first met in college in Hubli. They started hanging out as friends and developed a bond through endless hours on the phone. They both knew right then that they wanted to be together for the rest of their lives. They officially started dating in February 2019. In the past six years, their time together has been an amazing adventure, full of laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. They both share a passion for cooking and traveling.

The Wedding Day
We exchanged our vows in an intimate ceremony in Big Sur, California to begin our forever!
Vachana and Karan started their wedding morning in the cozy Gate House Cabin at Glen Oaks. As the sunlight filtered through the redwoods, they shared a quiet moment over coffee and a quick breakfast, savoring the calm before the excitement of the day.
While Vachana prepared to meet her glam squad, Karan had a mission of his own. Not entirely happy with his outfit from the previous day’s dress rehearsal, he decided to make a spontaneous early-morning drive to Monterey for a last-minute purchase of a dress shirt and belt. Classic Karan—always striving for perfection, even at the eleventh hour.
Back at the cabin, the renowned Rhonda Johnson, a makeup and hair magician with Disney credits to her name, worked her magic on Vachana. With every brushstroke and curl, Rhonda gave her the perfect bridal look, making her feel like a true fairytale princess. As the photographer and officiant arrived, they stumbled upon an unexpected guest—a mischievous house cat lounging near the cabin. The feline quickly made itself at home, weaving through the action and even playing with the train of Vachana’s dress. The couple couldn’t help but laugh as the little troublemaker added its own quirky charm to the day.
The pair posed for a few “getting ready” photos just outside the cabin, surrounded by towering trees and the curious cat who seemed determined to steal the spotlight. Despite the last-minute errands and the unexpected guest, the morning was filled with love, laughter, and just the right amount of whimsy—a perfect prelude to the adventure that lay ahead.
Getting Ready
For their ceremony, Karan and Vachana ventured into the heart of the redwoods, finding a cozy, magical spot surrounded by towering trees and the whispers of nature. The atmosphere was serene yet alive, with the forest serving as their perfect witness.
Keith Lewis, their officiant, crafted a beautifully nature-centric ceremony that wove together their story and their love for the outdoors. His words resonated deeply, adding a poetic charm to the moment. When the time came to exchange vows, both Karan and Vachana were overcome with emotion, tears flowing as they poured their hearts out to each other.
With laughter and love, they exchanged rings, sealing their promises in the most meaningful way. When Keith finally pronounced them as Mr. and Mrs. Virupakshar, it felt like a dream come to life. They had officially locked their love into this wonderful new chapter as husband and wife.
After the ceremony, the couple wandered the forest paths for portraits, bathed in soft rays of sunshine filtering through the trees. The quiet beauty of the redwoods was the perfect setting to capture the essence of their day—natural, timeless, and full of love. It was a moment that felt suspended in time, a memory etched into the very soul of the forest.
The Ceremony
After the ceremony, Karan and Vachana hopped into the car and drove 30 minutes to Garrapata Beach, excited to continue their celebration by the ocean. But upon arrival, they discovered a high surf advisory had closed the beach. Undeterred and determined to make the most of their beach day, the two along with their photographer, Lynn Lewis, ventured along a long trail until they stumbled upon a hidden gem—a cozy little spot that felt like their own secret paradise.
There, surrounded by the crashing waves and salty breeze, they set up their picnic. They popped a bottle of champagne, cut into their wedding cake, and took a quiet moment to soak it all in. Sitting together on the sand, looking into each other’s eyes, they shared the joy and disbelief of finally being married. It was a simple, beautiful moment filled with laughter, love, and the sheer happiness of being together.
As the sun began to dip lower, they made their way back up the trail to a cliff overlooking the beach. That’s where they shared their first dance as husband and wife. The song playing was the same one they’d started their relationship with six years ago, and now it marked the beginning of their marriage. Dancing under the open sky, with the ocean as their backdrop, felt like the perfect full-circle moment—a celebration of where they’d been and where they were going.
For Karan and Vachana, it wasn’t just a dance; it was a journey through their memories, a chance to relive their love story so far, and a promise of the adventures still to come. It was, without a doubt, the moment of their lives.
The Picnic
To wrap up their magical day, Karan and Vachana drove up to the cliffs, where they were greeted by the breathtaking sight of the ocean stretching endlessly before them. The waves crashed against the rocks below, sending up dramatic splashes that seemed to dance in celebration of their love. It was nature’s own applause for the day they’d just shared.
Hand in hand, they walked to the edge of the cliffs, creating memories that felt as infinite as the horizon. They wandered up and down the rugged paths, pausing to take in the beauty of the ocean and the golden hues of the setting sun. Each moment felt like a perfect snapshot—laughter, quiet conversation, and the serenity of just being together. Karan and Vachana stood captivated by the waves, lost in the rhythm of the ocean and the magic of the day. It wasn’t just a sunset—it was the perfect ending to a day that marked the beginning of their forever.
